i used to watch old 1940’s serials during the summer holidays – really entertaining and portrayed the great idealism and moral righteousness of your country as personified by these serial heroes and comic book characters created at the time like captain america. really enjoyed the analysis of george lucas and steven spielberg using them as inspiration for ‘raiders of the lost ark’.
