“Uncle Floyd” Vivino, pictured here with his puppet Oogie, had a popular comedy/variety TV show in the late 1970s and early 1980s called The Uncle Floyd Show. He also performed the jingle for Wild West City, a western heritage theme park and frontier town re-creation in Netcong, NJ. He still performs live in NJ almost every night of the year.
Actually, Uncle Floyd first aired his show on UHF in 74. The cast as everyone knows it didn’t get on air until 1980. Floyd had 3 supporting performers from 74 to 80, Pat Cupo actor/writer, Marc Nathan, cameraman who did some things in front of the camera and yours truly actor/writer. We were paid in breakfast, so we actually worked for food back in the day. My most memorable character was Groucho “Stretch” Marx and Pat’s was W.C. Flippo and Bogie. We did live shows and really got the show off the ground which aired for thirty plus years.
Does any video exist from the Very Early Uncle Floyd years (the 70’s)?
Roger, the only publicly available video is the “Best of” that was put on DVD several years ago. I think it has all era’s of the show. Amazon sells it. Outside of that, there’s some clips on YouTube.
