if i think too much about the original theatrical versions of ‘star wars’ unavailability i get a stomach ulcer! lucas is just not listening – this is all the fans want to see; and i don’t think he realises how it is actually turning fans against him. i have friends who are selling their memorabilia just out of feeling betrayed and utter disgust. when he may finally release the originals, a lot of first generation fans won’t buy them because they’ve given up on the trilogy. ‘transformers: the movie’ was the first region 1 dvd i bought because – yet again! – no decent or comparable editions were released in england. there is a massive market over here for ’80s properties, but are not available on region 2.
