yes – christopher walken was lucas’ first choice for han solo – he wanted an eccentric or off-kilter performance for that character. other early ideas were that the entire cast be made of oriental people; another was that the cast be actors who were no more than 4-feet tall – this manifested itself in his production of ‘willow’. i think i’d watch a james bond film where the cast was made up of rappers. why not? they have more charisma than daniel craig!
