Listen to this episode:
* My car is loud for a V6, it sounds like we are in a locomotive train.
* The gift card from Houlihan’s was really for $20 not $50! Son of a gun!
* Annoyed I forgot the name of the Explorers movie.
* Leslie Nielsen is 82.
We both confused some old movies in this episode. According to IMDb.com, the only movie Charlton Heston and Henry Fonda were in together is Midway (1976). I believe the movie about bees you were talking about is called The Savage Bees (1976). That’s the only movie I could find that involved someone luring killer bees into a stadium (the Louisiana Superdome), but it doesn’t star Charlton Heston.
As you know, the movie I was describing about a group of boys building a spaceship is called Explorers (1985), which is different from the movie about aliens collecting pennies. From what I can tell, that was Invaders from Mars (1986).
Leslie Nielsen has looked exactly the same for the last thirty years. How is that possible?
BLAH! It was The Swarm, 1978, which I was thinking about, with Michael Caine, not Charlton Heston.
PS: It’s obvious, Leslie Nielsen is the robot the Texan was ordering from the Internet.
BTW, Mos Def was in Be Kind Rewind not Danny Glover. Although it probably would have been funnier with Danny Glover.
Dennis, Mos Def was in Be Kind Rewind, but so was Danny Glover. He was the owner of the video store.
Thanks again for being a guest! It was good hanging out with you. Sorry I took so long getting to NJ. Next time, I won’t keep you waiting at Digital Press for an hour.
rob’s story about the texan chap and his lost robot sounds like a subplot in a pee-wee herman film! my favourite schwarzenegger prank call is the one where they phone the elderly lady and she asks him : ’do you have a mental problem?’ and he replies ‘yeah’.
