Good show as always. You hit the Quantam of Solace review, right on the head. I felt it was more like a Bourne movie, not a Bond movie. They need to add Bond’s witty quips in the next film. The villain (the French guy), is a pretty good actor, but he seemed really wimpy in the film. My top 3 Bond movies are: Goldfinger, The Spy who Loved Me, and Casino Royale. I have a soft spot for A View to a Kill since it was the first Bond movie, I ever saw. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was surprisingly not bad. George Lazenby gets a bad rap sometimes. With the exception of Goldeneye, Brosnan’s Bond movies aren’t that great.
I’ve seen two out of the 23 James Bond movies (Thunderball and Casino Royale). I have a lot of catching up to do!
Dennis, you saw Twilight, right? Was it good? How was Kristen Stewart?

i cannot get beyond any other ‘james bond’ films other than the roger moore ones; ‘the man with the golden gun‘ being my least favourite. i understand the sean connery 60’s films set the template, but i just cannot connect to them. however, i thought dalton was a great bond. i also find it interesting that james bond is supposed to be the quintessential englishman, yet has been played by only two englishmen. a fun bit of pub trivia is bond was first portrayed by bob holness – host of quiz show ‘blockbusters‘ – in a radio adaptation.
David, my father’s generation loved the Connery movies because of the gadgets, but by the 70’s that was no longer a sell. Honestly I liked all the Bond movies until Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day, they’re both terrible. Which is sad because I loved Pierce.
