My cousin showed me this video in the summer. It’s essentially no different than Jackass. The question is whether these guys are truly Martial Arts students or not, my guess is no. It’s not funnier than the nerdy chubby kid who had a light saber duel with himself several years ago.
The thing that strikes me about this video is how brilliant it is. From a marketing perspective, they created (intentionally) a viral video. Not an easy thing to do. I suspect they put an ad on Craigslist for “Martial Arts Movie Extras Tryouts” or something similar and then set up a crappy camera and let people do their thing. Now they have one of the most widely seen videos on YouTube. Now, the question is…what to do with it? How do they monetize something like this?
I think it would have been funnier if the guy at the end tried to break the board with his head rather than his foot.
Judging from how stupid he is, I’d say he’s already tried many times!
