Rob, love how you found the audio from the actual Macho Man/Mean Gene interview prior to Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat!
For some reason, Savage was holding a coffee mug and kept saying it was for Ricky Steamboat. It made no sense!
The “Cup of Coffee” expression comes from baseball, but can be used in all sports. It means you competed in the big time for such a short time, you only had time to have a cup of coffee. Ricky Steamboat had been I think in WCW beforehand, and had just entered the WWF, and I guess Savage was intimating that he was going to beat up him bad and send him packing.
One thing to add, Jay Lethal, aka Black Machismo, has a tag team partner in TNA Wrestling called Consequences Creed, who is a take on Apollo Creed from the Rocky movies.
the photo in the album art of ‘black machismo’ really looks like galen from the ‘planet of the apes’ tv show. my envy at you seeing another classic film on the big screen is muted this time due to you seeing my least favourite bond film! i think dennis haysbert was like a human version of optimus prime in ‘24’ – he really embodied those noble qualities – but he does seem very trustworthy and a decent man.
