So I was reading on wikipedia, and it seems much of the backstory and plot of GI Joe Rise of Cobra took its form from the Marvel Comics. That’s why Rob and I didn’t recognize them, because the Sunbow cartoon had done things differently. That even included the personality of say, Destro.
Greg, if that’s the case, I’m glad I never read the comic books. Why were cartoon writers and artists so much better than comic book writers and artists in the 1980s?
By the way, we forgot to mention a giant John Hughes movie: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
Dr Smoov and animator Randall NG teamed up for some really cool, funny, and foul languaged cereal commercials. They are at http://www.youtube.com/randomusprime
Randall (http://www.randallng.com) has done some amazing CGI Generation 1 Transformers models.
Right now I’m doing the hotel thing until the people living in the house I want finally move out. In the meantime it’s hotel internet for me, meaning it takes half an hour to download a 45 minute podcast. Then when I do get podcasts, my MP3 player uncontrollably fast forwards so I never know how they end. I sit down at the computer and cry a lot.
Esteban, when are the people in the house supposed to move out? I’m glad to hear you’re okay though. Crying is healthy.
The big move-in is sometime during the first week of September. I can’t believe I’ve been living in hotels for two months already. More unbelievable is how I’ve been going without a widescreen 16:9 aspect TV and still surviving.
And if crying is healthy I want to thank Michael Bay for keeping me more healthy than a thousand Richard Simmonses.
i’ve still not seen the first ‘g.i. joe’ film – the design of destro and cobra commander put me off, but i’m oddly looking forward to the new one on the way. the dr. smoov fella is fantastic – actual good acting and accurate voicing, yet i don‘t think the cursing is needed. another talented person the mainstream are ignoring!
