  1. Wow. The Paunch Stevenson show has hit the mainstream!!! Two celebrities on one show. I’m going have to be the elitist hipster and start telling people I listened to Paunch befofe they became famous.

They both sounded like pretty good guys. San Fran is pretty eco friendly unlike where I grew up in NJ. My sister thinks organic food (which is all I buy) is for weirdos and cultists. I don’t think these people realize how much better it tastes than processed food. Even in Cali, if you eat fast food, you can go to In N Out, which tastes so much better than the other chains and is organic.

  2. Dennis, as always, thanks for the comment. We’re working on getting some more celebrities on the show. I’ve sent a few messages to people I’m a fan of, but haven’t gotten responses yet.

I haven’t bought Mario Kart Wii yet or Super Mario Galaxy. I’m behind in my Wii playing. I still want to try No More Heroes and Okami…and Boom Blox was just released…and Wii Fit and BlastWorks are coming out later this month…and Rock Band is coming out next month. I can’t keep up!

It amazes me how so many people are against healthy food. It doesn’t make sense. Why wouldn’t people want to take care of their bodies? Do that many people lack self-respect?

I agree with you that organic, healthy food tastes much better than the over-processed, refined garbage at McDonald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, White Castle, and every other fast food restaurant. Yes, a burrito from Whole Foods Market or Burritoville costs more than one from Taco Bell, but it’s also several times bigger, tastes far better, and is healthier. Isn’t that worth a few extra dollars?

Also, as my parents have found out, some food at Whole Foods Market is actually cheaper than it is at “normal” supermarkets. For example, Whole Foods’s 365 brand whole wheat pasta, fat free tomato sauce, olive oil, canned beans, and canned green olives are cheaper (and healthier) than the mainstream brands at Pathmark, ShopRite, Gristedes, and Food Emporium. Kashi 7 Whole Grain Puffs cereal, Food For Life Ezekiel cereal, and Garden of Eatin’ Blue Chips are half the price at Whole Foods Market than they are at Gristedes, Food Emporium, or Met Foodmarket.

Of course, Whole Foods Market also carries very expensive products, but that doesn’t mean everything in the store is expensive.

  3. Rob,

You hit the nail on the head. The myth that “organic food is so expensive and only for yuppies.” Whole Foods has many different varities and prices. Of course if you want organic quail and foie gras and caviar, they have that as well, but most people don’t eat that on a daily basis. However, everyday items like milk, eggs, bread, ground beef are the same price as any grocery store. I was interested to learn about swordfish from Ted Danson. My mother would make that at least once a month for us when I was a kid. From now on, I’ll just avoid it and stick with the plenty of other meaty fish out there. When we went camping, we grilled organic trout steaks and they were fantastic, just as meaty as the swordfish.

BTW, are you guys going to do a summer movies rundown? With Iron Man already out, the floodgates will open (Speed Racer, Batman, Indy, Hulk, etc.)

  4. I’ll stop buying swordfish and see if Whole Foods sells trout.

That’s a good idea about doing a summer movie rundown. We could do that for episode 103. We’ve already talked about Iron Man in episode 95 and episode 96, but we’ll mention it again.

  5. Wow, a theme show and two interviews. What does Ted Danson use to iron his brand new pants? A Steamburgen. Ok, sorry, great show guys and linking to my site. Soon a million listeners.
    Bob D. Caterino,
or should I say, Bob D. Stevenson? Na.

  6. judging from the photographic evidence, i think i’d prefer to meet mr. begley. come on, ted… crack a smile?
